First off, a sincere thank you to all JupyterLab contributors for the amazing (and free) product, which has made life better for many of us. ![]()
Unfortunately, for the last 6 months or so, I’ve had one bug after another which has critically disrupted the usability of JupyterLab. These included:
- JupyterLab Version 4.2.1 barely useable due to a variety of glitches (screen jumping around when scrolling; cells randomly changing order)
- Vanishing Cells in JupyterLab Notebooks (4.4)
- Output cells scroll far past their content (<4.10) (empty whitespace making scrolling around a huge headache)
- Copy paste breaks after source cell is deleted (4.5.0)
So… for months I’ve not been able to use the interface smoothly, with basic cell operations working as expected, and without everything taking twice as long due to these workflow disrupting issues.
Many of these were fixed reasonably fast, and I’m also aware that the complexity of these issues is certainly far above my head, and running a project of this scale must be extremely challenging, so again I’m very grateful for that.
But my question is - is there anything that can be done to stop these kinds of issues making it into releases? Is the project reaching a complexity whereby additional testing would be helpful?
P.S. apologies for the provocative title ![]()
