Error executing Jupyter command 'lab': [WinError 5] Access is denied

Hi All,

I was using jupyter lab upuntil now with no issues. I think I had 3.6.8 vesrion, then I got a notification in the Jupyter lab that a new version is available 4.5.6. So I updated it. Now I can not open the jupyter lab, and I receive an error message “Error executing Jupyter command ‘lab’: [WinError 5] Access is denied”. What might be the cause ? How to resolve this? I am a new user.

More than likely you didn’t clean old things out well enough and then reinstall fresh. The version jump is significant and so an update/upgrade often isn’t appropriate.
And/or the install was not good.
