I think it might be valuable to keep a banner with mention of Notebook 7 (and maybe even mention JupyterLab 4) but it would be good to update it to post-release reality and stop advertising --pre option, instead -U for upgrade to stable version should be shown.
@consideRatio @choldgraf I think as admins you’ll need to remove the banner status from New Notebook 7 release is coming, help needed!

I did this by visiting Welcome to the Jupyter Discourse Forum and then pressing “Wrench icon for the topic (not the first post)” → “Pin topic” → “Make banner topic”.
