I just wanted to announce on here that I opened a discussion on whether development should be put towards the original ipykernel or the new xeus-python kernel. In particular for new features like the debugging API.
It would be good to keep conversation mostly on that issue, but I wanted to link to it from here for more visibility. Not sure if this is the right category, feel free to move if it fits somewhere else better.
