Hey all - this is Chris, the Executive Director of 2i2c, a non-profit that builds an international network of cloud-based interactive computing hubs for communities in research and education.
Jupyter is one of the key open source communities that we support (and that we utilize as part of our service) so I wanted to share a few links to some recent posts from the 2i2c blog as part of a quarterly update. We’re improving our transparency as an organization, and we hope that these posts give a high-level update on our progress as an organization and a community.
- Our Q1 organizational reflection describes the major strategic advances and context in Q1 of 2025. This quarter was the first under our new organizational goals and structure, and was a key step towards sustainability and more effective delivery.
- Our Q1 product highlights outline the achievements from our product and services team in Q1 of 2025. This includes adding user storage quotas, a pilot to deploy on federal Jetstream 2 infrastructure, and upgrading our infrastructure to the latest JupyterHub version. Most of these improvements were made by making upstream contributions to open source projects, and applying these updates to the infrastructure used by our member network.
- Our Q2 product goals describe some high-level goals that are guiding our product team in Q2 of 2025, including giving administrators more control over their hubs, allowing users to share their reproducible environments, and offering out-of-the-box Jupyter Book support.
We’re also piloting a new membership offering and pricing model. If you or anyone in your network is interested in learning more about our new membership model, or funding development work in the open source ecosystem, please use this short form. We depend on our member network for collaboration, guidance, and resources.
