Understanding rateLimit when using chatgpt with jupyter ai plugin

Hi,

I’m trying to use the jupyter ai pluginon the JASMIN notebooks server:

I get a rateLimit error:
“openai.error.RateLimitError: You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.”

However, I’ve not achieve a single prompt/response instance. My test prompt was “hi?”, which doesn’t seem that cumbersome.

The openai page suggests that even free users should have a non-zero RPM and TPM, so I don’t understand why I can’t obtain single response.

Has anyone used this plugin, and had success?

yes i used this plugin, you will only be able to use the openai api for a month or so with a free account. if your account is older you can only use gpt3.5 via the openai website.

thanks, that’s helpful. Do chatgpt+ subscribers have access to the API or is it a seperate subscription process.

you get billed by usage, if you have an account set up to work with gpt4 (which you have to pay for) you automatically have api access in gpt3.5 and all other paid stuff you can see here: Pricing
gpt4 by api is not yet publicly available.
