We at the Computational Social Science department of GESIS – Leibniz-Institute for the Social Sciences is looking for someone that is passionate about open source material that help researchers to gain data competences. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Jupyter Ecosystem.
Your tasks will be:
- Design and development of an intuitive and user-friendly toolbox that allows for easy integration of analysis scripts
- Development and implementation of a concept for community features within the toolbox
- Researcher support in developing tools to be integrated in the toolbox
- Researcher support in developing interactive self-assessment material
- Documentation of processes related to the toolbox
Your profile:
- University degree (diploma, master’s degree or comparable degree) in computer science or a similar discipline (e.g. data science, software engineering)
- Experience with front-end development (CSS/SASS and JavaScript; not required but welcome: full-stack development, and database administration)
- Familiar with R and/or Python (especially with Jupyter Notebooks)
- Optional: Familiar with Quarto and/or Rmarkdown
- Very good command of written and spoken English and German language skills are desirable
