Last friday of the month, IPython 7.24 was released a few minutes ago, and is now available on PyPI, soon on conda-forge; thanks in advance to Nick Bollweg our own biologically based bot who takes care of packaging and MrMino for staying on top of issues.
Biggest improvement of this release is the ability to skip or hide frames originating from read only files, these are likely from system wide install by admins and are less likely to contain bugs. See more info in the what is new here.
You can (should) upgrade with pip:
pip install ipython --upgrade
And if you are using conda, once available on conda-forge:
conda upgrade ipython
