JupyterHub 6.0.1 and NativeAuthenticator 1.3.0 login issue

I’ve been using JupyterHub 5.x with NativeAuthenticator 1.3.0 and python 3.12 for some time now without issue, but its time to upgrade to 6.x. After upgrade to JH 6.0.1, JupyterHub starts normally and displays NativeAuthenticator’s login page, but POSTing the login form fails in NativeAuthenticator with:

nativeauthenticator/handlers.py, line 485

auth_timer = self.statsd.timer("login.authenticate").start()

AttributeError:
'LoginHandler' object has no attribute 'statsd'

and error handling subsequently encounters:

TypeError:
LoginHandler._render() got an unexpected keyword argument 'sync'

Please can you open a bug report on Issues · jupyterhub/nativeauthenticator · GitHub ? statsd support was removed in JupyterHub 6 because it was unmaintained, so will need to be removed from nativeauthenticator.
