Jupyter on Digital Ocean Marketplace?

Over the last few days, I’ve spotted a couple of buttons for 1-click launching of Digital Ocean marketplace applications on various project repos.

Would it make sense for Jupyter org to register on the marketplace as a vendor ( https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/vendors ) and publish basic, but sound, reference set-ups, or should it be left to the market?

  • would the (time/opportunity) cost of maintaining such builds be a distraction?
  • would there be opportunities for income generation (or should all Jupyter.org offerings be $free)?

In general I really like the idea of making it easy to quickly spin up JupyterHubs / Jupyter environments on the cloud providers. @sgibson91 and @trallard did something like this with BinderHub on Azure that I thought was pretty neat https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Educator-Developer-Blog/Deploying-BinderHub-onto-Microsoft-Azure/ba-p/687974

In terms of adopting an official “vendor” status, that sounds more complicated  I agree that your questions are the right ones to ask
