Interesting. I never thought of the launcher as having similar functionality as a new tab in a browser, but that makes total sense. In fact it makes me wonder if it would be helpful to add a “new tab” (+) button the the right of the last tab, like in most browsers.

We’ve also wondered that for a long time. In fact, it seems that someone implemented that recently, or talked about implementing it. Unfortunately, I can’t find the PR or issue after a few minutes of searching.
