The ExecutableBooks team recently released a new version of a [MyST Markdown extension for JupyterLab](https://github.com/executablebooks/jupyterlab-myst) (v4!). Blog post:

> **[Using MyST Markdown in JupyterLab](https://executablebooks.org/en/latest/blog/2023-06-27-jupyterlab-myst/)**
>
> If you are using JupyterBook or MyST Markdown, you can now see your content directly in JupyterLab with the our new extension jupyterlab-myst. In this post we will showcase jupyterlab-myst to enabl...

Lots of features for scientific and technical writing:

- callouts and admonitions (works the same as JupyterBook!)
- proofs, exercises, glossaries
- figure, equation, and section numbering (with previews!)
- hover previews for cross-references, github links, and wikipedia
- inline execution for variables and widgets
- editable task lists
- rich frontmatter (title, authors, affiliations, licenses, github links!)

Works in the notebook and on markdown files.
