I’ve been using, teaching, and promoting the Jupyter Notebook (and previously IPython Notebook) since 2014.

Earlier today, I published a blog post that attempts to concisely explain some of the most common Jupyter-related terminology:

> **[Jupyter & IPython terminology explained](https://www.dataschool.io/jupyter-and-ipython-terminology/)**
>
> Are you trying to understand the differences between Jupyter Notebook, JupyterLab, IPython, Colab, and related terms? You're in the right place!

**If you notice anything incorrect, or have any suggestions for how the post can be improved, I’d love to hear from you!**

(My audience skews beginner, which is why I limited both the scope and technical depth of the post.)

Thanks!
-Kevin

Today, I published a video covering this same topic:

Feel free to share this resource with any folks who are new to Jupyter!
