Is it possible make the containers provided by dockerstacks to be free of any licensing liabilites to Anaconda Inc? Their terms of use seems to be tightening and this might have economic consequences for many organisations: [https://www.theregister.com/2024/08/08/anaconda\_puts\_the\_squeeze\_on/](https://www.theregister.com/2024/08/08/anaconda_puts_the_squeeze_on/)

I’m only asking for the technical possibilities here.

The Jupyter docker-stacks use Micromamba with the conda-forge channel:

Of course that wont stop someone installing packages from another channel at runtime.

Yep. One could add a bogus redirect of `anaconda.com` (not `.org`) in `/etc/hosts`, but the `anaconda.org/(anaconda|m2)` channels would be harder to remove at the networking layer.

Thank you for the clarification.

Thanks for the tip, but we will rather monitor activity than hacking the network config 🙂
